Mission
AMPS stands for the Association of Applied Math, Applied Physics, Materials Science, and Medical Physics Students. We are a group serving graduate students in APAM committed to fostering interaction, friendship, and respect among all members of the department by sponsoring and organizing events and building community. We act as a representative of all MS and PhD students with the administration and faculty of the department, the school, and other graduate students, and advocate on behalf of the students to these groups. All graduate APAM students are members of AMPS and are invited to join us at our events.

Mission
The goal of the Chemical Engineering Graduate Organization is to act as a liaison between the graduate student population and the department on issues of concern to the student body. We organize and run activities which enrich the academic and social experience of graduate students within the department. We assist in the management of the chemical engineering community outreach program. We aid in the planning and running of miscellaneous departmental activities (e.g., open house, orientation, graduate student breakfasts, etc.).

Our mission is to shape the future of the energy industry by empowering Columbia students through networking, energy awareness, education, training, and professional development—fostering the next generation of energy leaders committed to sustainability, innovation, and excellence.

The Association of Energy Engineers (AEE) is an organization founded in 1977 that supports professional and emerging energy engineers through networking and educational resources. The Columbia University student chapter of the AEE offers post-graduate students a collaborative and active platform to advance the organization’s initiatives while taking advantage of support from the organization. The scope of the Columbia University student chapter of the AEE encompasses dedicated scholarship opportunities in the engineering field, networking opportunities with professionals in engineering and related fields, access to energy industry educational resources, participation in practical projects, seminars and fairs, employment opportunities, mentorship opportunities, and other such benefits.

The Data Science Institute Student Council (DSISC) was originally formed to advocate for the students of DSI. Over the years, it has evolved into a community, working towards improving DSI students’ experience at Columbia. Now, the agenda of the council is multifold: (i) to serve as representatives of DSI students by gauging their needs and addressing them and/or bringing them to the attention of those who can, (ii) encourage a sense of community among the students through social mixers and/or technical events, (iii) support the technical advancement of students by providing necessary resources, (iv) build a stronger and better connected alumni network.

4. Communicate with other recognized student organizations of the University and the University Senate, and represent the graduate engineering student community in these organizations
5. Appropriate the allotted funds to student organizations recognized by the Council wherein graduate engineering students participate
6. Maintain communication with alumni, alumni clubs, and career services to help students in their professional development
7. Disseminate information relevant to the interests of the graduate student community

Hello and welcome to LAB RATS Lit Mag!!! The first and only literary magazine for Columbia’s Engineering School and the first and only Graduate Student Literary Magazine! When we’re not smacking our little paws on a keyboard or pipetting samples with our tiny hands, we’re busy being big thinkers and dreamers in other ways! We wanted to create LAB RATS to have a space for engineering students, staff, and faculty to write silly poems, share our worries, make artwork, and get to know each other creatively outside of the lab. We hope LAB RATS can be a safe, judgement-free zone where we can share ideas and inspiration. Whether it’s a photo of some cool graffiti you saw on your commute, a dream you had, or a short story– we welcome any and all submissions. Our goal is to create a space to celebrate our artistic sides.
